Playing with the shadows

I think shadows can be very moody in a drawing with hard contrasts and most of the motif in the dark. This guy is in the dark and the black shadows tells it’s own story.

This drawing is created 100% digitally with Clip Studio Paint and a Wacom Intous tablet. I actually  focused on his silohouette in the beginning and began carving out  the light later. It was a fun experience because it felt like carving out a sculptur rather than actual drawing. The shadows make a distinct mood or  temperature in this drawing, I think, and helps shape the head.

This is a low resolution sample of my digital original work which measures about 2400 x 4600 pixels.
